Chapter one
Once upon a time, there was a little woodpecker. He was alone. So he walked and walked to find a family.
On the way, he met an owl. He asked the owl:” Can you be my mother?”
“No.” said the owl.
“Why?” asked the little woodpecker.
“Because you can peck the wood. I can’t” said the owl.
Chapter two
The little woodpecker met a big red bird. He asked the bird:“Can you be my mother?”
“No.” said the bird.
“Why?” asked the little woodpecker.
“Because you can peck wood and your mouth is very sharp. But we can be friends.” said the bird.
So they went to playground. They play on the swing and slide and climb the jungle gym.
“Can we play some more?” asked the little woodpecker.
“No.” said the big red bird,“I must warm myself before the winter coming.”
Chapter three
The little woodpecker felt very tired. So he slept on the top of the tree. Suddenly, he woke up. He saw that winter comes.
He said:“How can I warm myself?”
He flew and flew to the warm place.
On the way, there were two sticks make a cross. He flew down to it and rob the two sticks.
Suddenly, the fire come out. The little woodpecker felt very happy because now he can warm himself.
He picked up some apples out of his bag and eat them up.
Chapter four
The little woodpecker’s mother
The winter past, the spring come.
The little woodpecker still look for his mother and father.
He saw a beautiful girl woodpecker. She said:“I can be your mother.”
He agreed.
Chapter five
The little woodpecker’s father The little woodpecker said to his mother:“I need a father, too.”
They flew and flew to find a father.
They arrived at a cozy-looking cottage.
In the cottage there were two boy woodpeckers were fighting.
The little woodpecker said to his mom:“One of them can be my father.”
“No.” said mother,“Because they were fighting now.”
Then they flew to a river. In the river there was a little fish swimming.
The little fish was named Dot.
“Can the little fish be my father?” the little woodpecker asked.
“We can’t. The fish can swim but we can’t”
They flew to a woodpecker’s house. In it there was a boy woodpecker.
The little woodpecker asked his mother,“Can the boy woodpecker be my father?”
“Yes.” Mother said.
Now the little woodpecker had a family.
