Woodpecker’s family

Chapter one

Alone woodpecker

Once upon a time, there was a little woodpecker. He was alone. So he walked and walked to find a family.
On the way, he met an owl. He asked the owl:” Can you be my mother?”
“No.” said the owl.
“Why?” asked the little woodpecker.
“Because you can peck the wood. I can’t” said the owl.
Chapter two

The big red bird

The little woodpecker met a big red bird. He asked the bird:“Can you be my mother?”

“No.” said the bird.
“Why?” asked the little woodpecker.
“Because you can peck wood and your mouth is very sharp. But we can be friends.” said the bird.
So they went to playground. They play on the swing and slide and climb the jungle gym.
“Can we play some more?” asked the little woodpecker.
“No.” said the big red bird,“I must warm myself before the winter coming.”
Chapter three

The winter

The little woodpecker felt very tired. So he slept on the top of the tree. Suddenly, he woke up. He saw that winter comes.

He said:“How can I warm myself?”

He flew and flew to the warm place.

On the way, there were two sticks make a cross. He flew down to it and rob the two sticks.

Suddenly, the fire come out. The little woodpecker felt very happy because now he can warm himself.

He picked up some apples out of his bag and eat them up.
Chapter four

The little woodpecker’s mother

The winter past, the spring come.

The little woodpecker still look for his mother and father.

He saw a beautiful girl woodpecker. She said:“I can be your mother.”

He agreed.
Chapter five

The little woodpecker’s father

The little woodpecker said to his mother:“I need a father, too.”
They flew and flew to find a father.
They arrived at a cozy-looking cottage.
In the cottage there were two boy woodpeckers were fighting.
The little woodpecker said to his mom:“One of them can be my father.”
“No.” said mother,“Because they were fighting now.”
Then they flew to a river. In the river there was a little fish swimming.
The little fish was named Dot.
“Can the little fish be my father?” the little woodpecker asked.
“We can’t. The fish can swim but we can’t”
They flew to a woodpecker’s house. In it there was a boy woodpecker.
The little woodpecker asked his mother,“Can the boy woodpecker be my father?”
“Yes.” Mother said.
Now the little woodpecker had a family.

时间过的真快啊
去年，John参加了一个英语学习班，效果不错，培训机构的名字就不说了，怕误认为是“托”哈。（在别的网站，我赞美了这个机构几句，有人说我是托，唉）

我现在很省心，John跟着学习班按部就班的进行，其他时间就听听各种初级小说。
大概说说目前的情况：
1 去年曾决定提高John的单词量，希望能达到2000，这个愿望“感觉”实现了。
2 现在尽量用英语解释英语，John的学习班也是这样的全英文，他很适应。
3 Magic tree house听了前28本（仅仅是听），JBJ刚听第一本，A to Z听了第一本发觉不太适合John，他的认知能力还没达到听懂的程度
4 学习《中学生百科英语》第一册
5 看动画片《功夫熊猫》，这个纯属瞎看，John特别喜欢，现在看到第5集

总之，我还是很满意John目前的学习进度的。

动画片《风中奇缘》终于学完了，这两天打算复习动画片《小鸡快跑》，
《功夫熊猫》是John的最爱，他每天随机看两集，不知道看进去多少

MTH和JBJ也是这样泛听着。
MTH30本之后篇幅加长，内容也难了不少，John只能听懂50%，60%的样子。以后跟读看看效果。

你家宝好厉害哦，我家也是2006年，目前在听MTH。刚听了2个月。
能不能短我一下学习班的信息？我正想找外教呢。有没有教写作的老师呢？

这几天在magic tree house，horrid henry，A to Z之间七七八八地乱听。
John喜欢搞笑的，带点小恐怖的，闹鬼，僵尸之类的。想当初，看了侏罗纪公园，晚上吓得他不敢一个人睡觉，第二天躲在我身后，通过手指缝又看了一遍。回忆他当时又害怕又想看的样子就觉得好笑。
昨天去图书馆又借了本有关木乃伊的，怎么那么重口味呢

《中学生百科英语 1》学到unit 6。
动画片功夫熊猫还在看，只是没当初那么痴迷。
刚开始看magic school bus，像水循环和消化，以前在科技馆和书本里接触过，相关的英文词汇，John也知道一些，还能看懂。其他的就看不太明白了，就是图个热闹。John喜欢食肉植物和火山，不知MSB里有没有。

你追到你家的小楼上来了，你家孩子程度真的不错了。不过我要告你，一旦上越学后，你就会发现越来的牛孩。他现在还没上学，你一定要抓紧时间。上学后的时间就不能完全由得家长来掌控了。JOHN太棒了

John上学问题告一段落了，报名，面试，拿通知，交钱，折腾啊

John只有《中学生百科英语》算是“学习”，其他都是有一搭没一搭的。
百科英语还是不错的，我和John同步学习。
unit7的第一课是The Polynesians，John看过之后觉得在MTH《High Tide In Hawaii》听到过。上维基一查，果然夏威夷人就属于Polynesians，又想起台湾人对本土人DNA的研究中有一项就是和Polynesians相关的。书中也提到了Polynesians起源于中国南方。当然这些都不是定论，现在Polynesians到底从哪里迁徙来的，还是个谜。
第二课《A Giraffa In Central Asia》，听过一遍后，我想当然的以为Tamerlane就是成吉思汗，后来一查，人家是帖木儿，这个汗啊，差点误了自家的“子弟”
第三课《The First Woman on Mount Qomolangma》，我又跟着孩子长学问了。书上写的是Mount Qomolangma，可音频却是Mount Everest，还得查。查完了才知道最高峰有两个名字，音频里的更常用，我顺带也知晓了名称的由来。

今年春节的时候，给John买了一个大号地球仪（中英文标注），算是没白买。百科里哪一篇都和地理有关系，地球仪还真是很有用。比如讲The Polynesians的时候，有了地球仪，就很容易理解为什么要称The Polynesians是great explorers，那是多大的一片海域啊。

John课外有阅读课，文字是很简单很简单的，课后我不要求John复习，觉得浪费时间。
老师的要求还很高，要求语流断句，要求从一个意群到另一个意群。我觉得John读得挺好的，就没在意。

现在我的观念变了，朗读还是很重要的，近日开始训练意群朗读。具体怎么操作，我也是门外汉，就当John是小白鼠了。
