58. The Cat's Meow
Caillou: I can’t find him anywhere. Mommy!
Storyteller: It was time to take Gilbert to the vet for his regular checkup.
Caillou: Gilbert, where are you? You, bad cat.
Storyteller: but Gilbert was missing.
Daddy: I can’t see the box anywhere, honey. Are you sure it’s down here?
Daddy: did you find Gilbert, Caillou?
Caillou: no, daddy.
Daddy: and I can’t find its box.
Mommy: look, what I found?
Storyteller: when Gilbert saw his box he knew that men he would be going in the car. And Gilbert didn’t like going in the car.
Caillou: Gilbert doesn’t want to go to the vet.
Daddy: I know. But he has to. He needs its checkup.
Caillou: checkup? Like when I go to the doctor?
Daddy: exactly, the veterinarian is Gilbert’s doctor.
Caillou: it’s okay, Gilbert. I’ll look after you.
Caillou: daddy, Gilbert got out of the box.
Daddy: oaky. Don’t worry everything that I can control. I hope.
Caillou: I can see its tail.
Caillou: bad cat, Gilbert.
Daddy: he’s not really a bad cat. He’s just scared. He doesn’t like riding in the car.
Caillou: silly, Gilbert. I love riding in the car.
Storyteller: Gilbert was back in his box of there on their way again.
Daddy: by the way, Caillou. Just how does Gilbert get out of his box?
Caillou: I just want to pet him.
Daddy: that was nice of you. But let’s leave him in the box from now on. Okay?
Caillou: okay.
Caillou: Sara.
Sara: hi, caillou. What are you doing here?
Caillou: Gilbert is having his checkup.
Sara: oh, he’s here to have his teeth cleaned. He has to see you overnight.
Caillou: did you bring its tooth brush?
Sara: no, silly. He doesn’t have a tooth brush. Doctor Orangeville has to clean its teeth for him.
The doctor：good, everything is fine here. And now I have to give Gilbert his shots.
Caillou: is it going to hurt?
: not very much and it’ll make sure it gives his healthy for a whole year. How would you like to help me, Caillou? Just pet Gilbert and keep him calm.
Caillou: Don’t worry, Gilbert.
The doctor: there, all done that wasn’t so bad now, was it?
Caillou: Gilbert, come back.
Daddy: oh, no. not again.
