宝爸写的真好，教育孩子也很有想法。我把之前的整理成了word文件，发给了好几个家里有小孩儿的朋友，大家一起学习。看到这，李宝是不是也快回国了？哎。。其实如果可以的话，小李宝真应该在美国念书，不知道他经历了美国这一年以后，是否还能适应国内的教育。祝福你们一家。

Before you can become a truly active learner, it's important to understand the difference in meaning between the words study and learn. according to most English_Chinese dictionaries, both can be translated 学，sometimes they are used to mean the same thing.However, in English these two words generally have different meanings. Usually study is used for academic subjects such as math, history, etc, while learn is often used to describe obtaining a new skill like skiing, swimming or playing the piano.

Books, CDs and films are excellent English language leanings tools, but they aren't enough. The knowledge gained from them is of very little use wihtout action.Reading English texts, looking at new words, and studying grammer rules are good, but they need to be balanced with writing. Listening to English lectures, etc, are good for listening practice, but real language improvement requires speaking. Active learning is not for lazy people, but it is for those who really wnat to improve their language skills.

Most classroom lessons don't meet the needs of all of these learning styles, which is one resason some students do very well and others not so well. Because people have different natural learning styles, the same method that works for one person may not work as well for another. if you can identify your natural learning style, you  should be able to select the best method to help you improve your spoken english.

In her famous book, The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling, Debra Bell says different people have different styles of learning. She cites the four learning styles put forthby Dr. Keith Golay:

The Actual-spontaneous learner
This person is more impulsive, and less likely to think and plan ahead. as a child, he or she was more active, possibly not as well behaved as others, and not very suited for traditionaly classroom learning, he or she likes groups, but is sometimes competitive and doesn't like a lot of structure. he may not be as interested in academics, but is good at learning in a very free environment. he may like being the hero and is good at getting a job done, especially if it is physical. for best study results, this person should learn in an environment that doesn't have too many distractions, and he or she to be allowed to move about freely.

The Actual-Routine Learner
This kind of learner, even in childhood, is a teacher's dream student. he or she wants to please teachers and parents,is very helpful, listens to the lessons very well, and asks questions to avoid making mistakes. this learner is usually less creative and spontaneous, but good at traditional book learning. it is difficult for this person when the schedule or routine changes, but he or she will usually follow the rules and also gets upset when others don't obey the rules. this person needs a well organized, step-by-step learning environment, with clear instructions.
