应该是两年多前在当当买过一本书，前天偶然被女儿“发现”，大感兴趣（非常好的插图起了作用），用大约三天的课余时间将之读完了...

Treasures G4第18课是谈能源的。由于先读了The Heat Is On，等于先学补充的后学课文了。Treasures G4第18课的Spelling作业有一篇Writing Activity（第113页），女儿昨日做的如下：

We need to save energy! It can help our environment in many, many ways. Burning oil, gasoline, and coal is cheap, but it develops many harmful gases, such as carbon dioxide. And nuclear power plants are dangerous with a capital "D". Also, hydropower stops the flowing of water, and kills many living things. We should try to save energy, and use clean energy sources, such as wind and solar energy. Persuade your parents to buy solar panels, and hybrid cars! You'll find out how they can help! Don't buy cars that zoom around and use twenty gallons of gasoline per mile! Remember to do your best! (The earth is counting on us!)

呵呵，看来玩电脑游戏是小孩的最爱。好运这几天玩了不少游戏。每天和小表弟拿IPAD玩游戏，过足了游戏瘾。
三亚的气温从除夕开始升温，白天气温很高，海水也不那么凉了，适合游泳了。可好运还是觉得海水有些凉，不愿下水游泳。他和小表弟坐在海边玩，捡贝壳、聊天，衣服都被海水打湿了，却不觉得海水凉。唉，到底是小孩子，随他吧，想怎么玩就怎么玩吧。

好运一直吃喝玩乐，没什么长进，我倒是有进步，学会了游泳——狗刨 。

呵呵，玩得好。发一则YN做的作业，YN说句子造的超长，让我看呢（Treasures G4 Practice Page 133）:

Choose three vocabulary words (dove; snoring; tangles; unique; politicians; massive; rumbling) and use them in one sentence.

"Look, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I don't think scribbling tangles of lines and circles and squares on this massive rock would make it more unique, so why don't you gather your markers and crayons and follow me to that cozy café over there where we could all get some iced drinks?"

好运大概是从10月10日开始泛读美国Treasures-G4的文章，快把Unit1-Theme3读完了。

Unit1-Theme2要求写一篇五行诗。好运对音节的概念不太清楚，所以写的诗不符合五行诗的要求。

但这是他写的第一首英文诗，蛮有纪念意义的，所以发上来做个纪念。

有写的不对的地方，还请大家多指教。

PS:这首诗是根据动画《驯龙记》写的。

女儿学到Unit4-Theme4，要求写另一种五行诗：Limerick。Unit1-Theme2要求写的Cinquain是课后写作教程要求写的，黑白作业未有要求；Unit4-Theme4要求写的Limerick则是黑白作业要求写，因此女儿决心写一首。了解了韵脚要求，并在网上查了半天大致了解了“抑抑扬格”是什么。然后开始构思写……

女儿谈到，达尔的Matilda中写有一首Limerick，且引了一首Limerick名作。女儿还说，记得JBJ有一处介绍了Cinquain的格式……

写好了，写一个old lady边吃晚饭边读报，未必完全符合还未完全搞清的“抑抑扬格”的：

Once there was an old lady with eyeglasses
Who always read newspapers while eating cake with molasses
As she read stories about people who’s got lice
Her cake cooled and turned as cold as ice
And she didn’t even notice when an hour quietly passes

昨晚去吃饭的路上又构思了一首Limerick，就坐后写于报纸边上的空白：

Anna, a rather pretty girl with jet-black hair
Isn't very fond of fresh open air
Instead she stays
Home and plays
Gruesome computer games that include guns and warfare

Limerick五行，除了abbaa的韵法外，最主要的是第1，2，5行要有3个feet，第3，4行则是2个feet。

对这个anapestic格，多读点Limerick作品，就会有感觉了。Limerick鼻祖Edward Lear的诗集“A Book of Nonsense”自然是个好选择，不知道YN和LUCK是否读过，我有文本版的，网上有配图版的：http://www.nonsenselit.org/Lear/BoN/bon010.html

对了，忘说还有一点，每行的第一个foot可以不一定是抑抑扬，也可以是抑扬。但第二和第三个foot一定要用抑抑扬。

前述Treasures G4 Unit4-Theme4黑白作业中示范的一首，正是Edward Lear诗集中的第一首。
