LEAN IN Women, Work, and the Will to Lead
I recommend adopting two concurrent goals: a long-term dream and an eighteen-month plan.
Trying to overcorrect is a great way to find middle ground.(当然,这更多地适用于纠正偏离正确航向的认识,在操作上可不能总是纠枉过正)
But opportunities are rarely offered, they are seized.
Studies show that mentors select proteges based on performance and potential. Intuitively, people invest in those who stand out for their talent or who can really benefit from help. Mentors continue to invest when mentees use their time well and truly open to feed back.(所以,与其费时间抱怨无人相助相扶,不如想想自己是不是刘阿斗,进而改变自己阿斗的形象。)
The ability to listen is as important as the ability to speak.
Useful questions to get good suggestions: How can I do better? What am I doing that I don't know? What am I not doing that I don't see?
Done is better than perfect.
It is difficult to distinguish between the aspects of a job that are truely necessary and those that are not.
I'm paying them for the quality of their work, not for the hours they work.
Diverse groups often perform better.
Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.(所以,哪个部门如果缺不得某位领导,只能说明他不是一个好领导?)
I hope they both end up exactly where they want to be.
