Finding the lost leash
About a month ago, I heard that Nemo’s(Sarah’s dog)leash was lost! Without it, Nemo couldn’t go out playing, because she was too naughty and old people were afraid of her. I was worried. That day, I thought about the leash a lot. I sat in my chair staring outside the window.
Suddenly, I saw it! A big “Lost and found” poster was stuck right on the wall. How come I never thought of it before! I could write lots and lots of “Lost and found” posters, and stick them on the wall around our neighborhood!
“Mom! I am going to stick lots of ‘lost and found’ posters on the wall to help Sarah find the leash!” I shouted happily. ”But honey,” she said with a doubtful look on her face,”Only a few people will look at the walls, you know that.” “Yes, but It doesn’t hurt to try!” Then I ran into my bedroom. I took about 20 pieces of paper off my bookshelf and then started working on it. I used crayons to write these words on the posters. I used green and blue to make it more attractive.
Lost and found!
A Red dog leash with white flowers is lost in the nearby area! If you find it, please call: 88888888 or go to Happy Street, room No. 888.
Thanks for your help!
2012.2.15. Alice
After finishing the third one, I decided to rest for a while on my bed. Just then, the door bell rang, who could it be? I quickly ran to the door and opened it, it was Sarah and Helen! My two best friends! “Come in!” I said, “You can help me with my work!” We walked into my bedroom together. The three of us sat down and started to write the same words over and over again. I looked at Sarah’s; her word “dog” looked just like “hog!” I pointed it out and we all laughed. We worked together for about an hour. “This is fun!” I said. Finally we finished all the posters.
The next day, we stood together at one of the walls, Helen brushed the glue on the poster; I held the poster up and Sarah shouted, “A little bit higher! Right… left…Ok!” We gazed at our first work, it was perfect! We moved on to the next one. Finally, we finished all of them. Now, all we have to do is to wait.
The first day passed, I looked at the walls, the posters were still there, but no one called.
The second day passed, nothing new happened.
The third day, the fourth, the fifth….I began to lose hope. Maybe Mom was right, nobody will look at these posters! I walked slowly home. The sky was gray, the sun wasn’t bright, even the flowers had lost their fragrant smell.
The next day when I got up, the telephone rang, I picked it up” Hello?” “It was found! The dog leash was found!” Sarah’s voice sounded excited.” Finally, after 5 days, an old woman called and gave it back! Oh, Isn’t that a miracle!” I couldn’t believe my ears, it really worked! We shouted and laughed on the phone.
How happy I was!
