阿默斯特（Amherst)，是美国东部马萨储塞州西边的一个小镇。　　阿镇在美国历史上有些名气的：它以当年镇压印第安人有功的将军的名字命名；全美国4年制学院历年排名第一的学院以它命名，60年代肯总统亲临Amherst学院视察留下佳话，加上其他四所大学：麻州大学阿城分校－－美国马列主义政治经济研究基地；罕不什尔县立学院；霍雷约科山女子学院和北汉普顿女子学院，因此小镇以它的教育而扬名全美。美国历史上著名的女诗人爱米莉就出生，成长，出名在这小镇。　　从阿镇沿着横穿美国东西大动脉90高速公路，东去首府波士顿2小时行车路程；西达纽约州尼亚加拉大瀑布及其它州等；从阿镇北上南北大通道95号高速公路直指佛蒙特州，加拿大；南下纽约，华盛顿到佛罗里达。虽是小镇却四通八达，甚为方便。<img
