《在森林里》—— In the forest

同样是 Marie Hal Ets 的作品

I had a new horn and a paper hat
And I went for a walk in the forest.

A big wild lion was taking a nap
But he woke up when he heard my horn.
"Where are you going?" he said to me.
"May I go too if I comb my hair?"
So he combed his hair and he came too
When I went for a walk in the forest.

Two elephant babies were taking a bath
But they stopped their splashing when they saw me.
"Wait for us!" they said as they dried their ears.
One put on his sweater. One put on some shoes.
And the elephant babies came too
When I went for a walk in the forest.

Two big brown bears sat under a tree.
They were counting their peanuts and eating jam.
"Wait a minute," they called. "We want to go too!"
So they picked up their peanuts and a spoon for the jam
And the big brown bears came too
When I went for a walk in the forest.

A mother and father kangaroo were teaching their baby how to hop.
"We'll bring our drums," the mother said.
"And our baby is no bother at all. I carry him in my pocket."
So the baby climbed into his mother's pouch
And the kangaroos came too
When I went for a walk in the forest.

An old gray stork was sitting down beside a pool of water.
He sat so still that I had to go near to see if he was real.
The stork stood up and looked at me.
He did not say one word.
But when I went back to my animals that funny bird came too.

Two little monkeys high up in the trees
Stopped playing and shouted when they saw me.
"A parade! A parade! We like a parade!"
So they got their best suits from a hole in a tree
And the two little monkeys came too
When I went for a walk in the forest.

I spied a rabbit behind a tall weed.
"Don't be afraid." I called to him.
"If you want to go too You can walk with me."
So the rabbit came too.

I blew my horn. The lion roared.
The elephants trumpeted through their trunks.
The big bears growled. The kangaroos drummed.
The stork clapped his bill.
The monkeys shouted and clapped their hands.
But the rabbit made no noise at all - when I went for a walk in the forest.

We came to a place made for picnics and games
So we stopped and ate peanuts and jam - and some ice cream and cake that were there.
We played Drop-the-Handkerchief once all around
And London-Bridge-Is-Falling-Down.
Then I was It for Hide-and-Seek and everyone hid - except the rabbit.
He just stood still. "Coming!" I called.
Then I opened my eyes.
There wasn't an animal there at all.
But there was Dad. He was hunting for me.
"Whom were you talking to?" he said.
"To my animals. They are hiding you see."
"But it's late" Dad said. "And we must go home. Perhaps they will wait till another day."
So I called to them as I rode away.
"Good-by!" I said. "Don't go away! I'll hunt for you another day
When I come for a walk in the forest."

很不错,正想搜罗这些绘本呢?请教在哪里购买省银子?

当当,京东,卓越每次做活动的时候,都是收绘本的好时机,
遇到200-100的情况就很划算了

《一寸虫》——Inch by Inch

One day, a hungry robin saw an inchworm, green as an emerald,
sitting on a twig. He was about to gobble him up.

"Don't eat me. I am an inchworm. I am useful. I measure things. "

"Is that so?" said the robin." Then measure my tail!"

"That's easy," said the inchworm.
"One, two, three, four, five inches."

"Just think," said the robin. "My tail is five inches long."
And with the inchworm,
he flew to where other birds needed to be measured.

The inchworm measured the neck of the flamingo.
  He measured the toucan's beak...
  the legs of the heron...
  the tail of the pheasant...
  and the whole hummingbird.

One morning the nightingale met the inchworm.
"Measure my song!" said the nightingale.

"But how can I do that?" said the inchworm.
"I measure things, not songs."

"Measure my song or I'll eat you for breakfast." said the nightingale.

Then the inchworm had an idea.
"I'll try." he said. "Go ahead and sing."

The nightingale sang and the inchworm measured away.

He measured and measured... inch by inch...
until he inched out of sight.

江布朗和夜半猫 —— John Brown,Rose And the midnight cat

Rose’s husband died a long time ago.
Now she lived with her dog. His name was John Brown.

John Brown loved Rose,
and he looked after her in every way he could.
In summer he sat under the pear tree with her.

In winter he watched as she dozed by the fire.
All year round he kept her company.
“We are all right, John Brown,” said Rose.
“Just two of us, you and me.”

One night Rose looked out of the window
and saw something move in the garden.
“What’s that in the garden, John Brown?” she said.
John Brown would not look.

“Out there,” said Rose. “I think it’s a cat.”
"I don’t see any cat." said John Brown.
"I’m sure it’s a cat. Go and give it some milk."
"There's nobody there,'' said John Brown.

But that night, when Rose was safe in bed, John Brown went outside.
He drew a line around the house and told the midnight cat to stay away.
"We don’t need you, cat," he said. "We are all right, Rose and I."

The next night Rose saw the midnight cat
as he slipped through the shadow of the pear tree.
"Look there he is, John Brown," she said. "Don’t you see him now?"
But John Brown shut his eyes.

Rose sighed and packed up her knitting.
Then she wound up the clock and took the milk bottles out.
John Brown followed her. "I'm sure there’s no cat," he said.

But Rose saw the midnight cat often after that.
Every night, when John Brown was not looking,
she put out a bowl of milk.

And every night, when Rose was not looking,
John Brown tipped it out again.

"You don’t need a cat," he said.
"You’ve got me."

One night the midnight cat jumped up at the window
and rubbed his back against the glass.
His eyes were like lamps, and his fur shone against the ragged sky.

"Look, John Brown!" said Rose. "Isn’t he beautiful? Get up and let him in."
"No!" said John Brown, and pulled the curtains shut.
"No, I won’t let him in."

Next morning Rose did not get up.
John Brown waited in the kitchen for his breakfast,
and nothing happened.

He went to see what was wrong.

"I’m sick," said Rose. "I’m staying in bed."
"All day?" said John Brown.
"All day and for ever," said Rose.

John Brown thought.
He thought all through lunch time
and when supper time came, he was still thinking.

An hour past supper time he went back to Rose, and woke her gently.
"Will the midnight cat make you better?" he asked.
"Oh yes!" said Rose. "That’s just what I want."

John Brown went out to the kitchen and opened the door,
and the midnight cat came in.
Then Rose got up and sat by the fire, for a while.

And the midnight cat sat on the arm of the chair and purred.

《先有蛋》—— First the egg

First the EGG, then the CHICKEN.
First the TADPOLE, then the FROG.
First the SEED, then the FLOWER.
First the CATERPILLAR, then the BUTTERFLY.
First the WORD, then the STORY.
First the PAINT, then the PICTURE...
First the CHICKEN, then the EGG!

再次推荐一本入门级读物:《亲爱的动物园》—— Dear Zoo

I wrote to the zoo
to send me a pet.
They sent me an elephant.
He was too big!
I sent him back.

So they sent me a giraffe.
He was too tall! I sent him back.

So they sent me a lion.
He was too fierce!  I sent him back.

So they sent me a camel.
He was too grumpy! I sent him back.

So they sent me a snake.
He was too scary! I sent him back.

So they sent me a monkey.
He was too naughty! I sent him back.

So they sent me a frog.
He was too jumpy!  I sent him back.

So they thought very hard,
and sent me a puppy.
He was PERFECT!

A Dark, Dark Tale

Once upon a time
there was a dark, dark moor.

On the moor there was
a dark, dark wood.

In the wood there was
a dark, dark house.

At the front of the house
there was a dark, dark door.

Behind the door
there was a dark, dark hall.
In the hall there were some dark, dark stairs.
Up the stairs
there was a dark, dark passage.
Across the passage
there was a dark, dark curtain.
Behind the curtain
was a dark, dark room.
In the room was a dark, dark cupboard.
In the cupboard
was a dark, dark corner.
In the corner was a dark, dark box.
And in the box there was… A MOUSE!

Rosie's Walk
Rosie the hen went for a walk
across the yard
around the pond
over the haystack
past the mill
through the fence
under the beehives
and got back in time for dinner
