在為3歲前的孩子說故事的選擇上，應儘量避免太過冒險、驚嚇，甚至會讓孩子害怕的情節，如一些涉及鬼怪的民間故事，都不適合年幼的小小孩。

親子共讀時，內容不一定要從頭唸到尾，任何一頁翻開都可以是一個新故事或是新遊戲，此外，幼兒的專注時間有限，當他表現出不耐或倦意時，就不要勉強繼續進

When reading with your child, it is not necessary to read the story from

game. As well, young children have limited concentration, so end the
session when he begins to become impatient or tired.

孩子入學前，不要將老師的形象塑造得太權威，甚至動輒拿老師嚇孩子，一旦孩子怕老師，不但會影響學習，也會影響家長了解孩子的在校表現。

Before your child begins to attend school, prevent from using the idea

培養孩子的注意力，父母可以購買拼圖，從少塊的拼圖逐漸增加塊數及拼圖的複雜程度，如此孩子集中注意力的時間也會不斷地增加。

To improve your child's attention span, have your child play with
puzzles beginning from a few pieces and then gradually to more difficult
puzzles.

對於動作比較慢的孩子，父母可以配合小朋友的腳步先給他一件短時間內可以完成的工作，待孩子勝任後，再給他一些需要較長時間去完成的工作，在快接近規定的
時間提醒他，讓他有時間的概念，如此漸進地改進。

For a child who is slow in completing tasks, offer him something which
can be done in a short time. After finishing the task, offer him more
tasks which require more time to complete. As well, let him understand
the concept of time by reminding him when time is almost up.

父母可設計具挑戰性的遊戲內容，例如：利用「尋寶探險的親子遊戲」給孩子更大的空間來鼓勵他學習去面對問題，並讓他多動腦思考解決問題。

Parents can design some challenging games for their child such as
"treasure hunting". It gives a child more space to learn to face
problems and to solve them.
