136 Caillou’s Canoe Trip
Story teller: Caillou as on a very special adventure with Grandpa and Daddy. They are going to sleep over one night in a long cabin.
Grandpa: I used to take your Daddy when he was a boy just like you.
Daddy: The cabin is like a small house. It’s amid the wood.
Caillou: Where is it?
Daddy: We still have a way to go before you can see it.
Grandpa: Aha. This way, and keep your eyes and ears open. There are lots of surprises in nature.
Storyteller: It didn’t take long before Caillou spotted his first surprise.
Caillou: Daddy, look! It’s gone.
Daddy: That’s how the snail protects itself. Maybe it was scared of you.
Grandpa: Everything is exactly how I remembered it.
Caillou: A boat!
Daddy: Not just any boat. This is a canoe! And it’s going to take us cross the lake to cabin on the other side.
Storyteller: Caillou suddenly felt faraway from home. He wished that his mommy was here with him too.
Caillou: I don’t want to go.
Daddy: It’s okay to be worried, Caillou. Adventure can be frightening at first, but they can also be a lot of fun. And we are here with you.
Grandpa: Can you get on your very own life jacket like us, see?
Storyteller: But Caillou was still missing his mommy.
Caillou: xsy.
Daddy: Here you go, Caillou.
Caillou: Thanks.
Daddy: You know what? I think I have an idea, see?
We can take pictures. You’ll be able to show mommy and Rosie all about our adventure. Want a try? Tell me when you see something. You want to take a picture of, ok?
Caillou: Daddy. A picture of grandpa.
Storyteller: Taking pictures was fun. This made Caillou feel more excited about the trip.
Grandpa: Ready to go now?
Daddy: Is my little watchout ready. Let me know if you want to take a picture of something.
Storyteller: Caillou likes being at the lookout. He even got xsy to help, too.
Storyteller: Caillou thought it was beautiful. It’s a dragonfly.
Caillou: A dragonfly. Wow, It wnt over there .Can we go too.
Grandpa: Certainly. To the bush we go.
You can touch it, Caillou. The spike of the Brushes are very soft.
Caillou: Yes. Look!
Storyteller: Caillou had never seen such a beautiful so close before.
Storyteller: Look, that’s a
Caillou: Did you see that? Byebye here. Thank you.
Grandpa: We get going. We’re almost there!
Grandpa: Oh, boy, look at that! Caillou, oh, Rexcy.
Grandpa: Don’t move, Caillou. I’ll get them.
Storyteller: What a scare! Caillou was very happy and relieved that Rexcy had been saved.
Grandpa: Aha! I think I know who made this splash. This was by a beaver. See this pointed end? There’s the beaver now! Look at that!
Grandpa: Let’s get closer. Maybe we’ll spot beaver.ok?
Caillou: Where’s the beaver?
Grandpa: that’s the beaver’s house. It’s called a lodge.
Caillou: Where is the door?
Grandpa: The door is underneath. The beaver has to swim underwater to get inside.
Caillou: Daddy, grandpa. Is that a beaver?
Grandpa: Sure it is!
Caillou: Wow!
Daddy: He must be in the lodge by now. Time to go.
Storyteller: The heat of the fire felt warm and cosy. Caillou: his wet dinasour.
137.Caillou and the bulldozer
Caillou: Look at that big truck! It went in there! What’s in there, mommy?
Mommy: You’ll see just a second! There’s a hole in the fence to look through.
Caillou: I can’t see. Pick me up.
Mommy: Please?
Caillou: Please? Mommy.
Caillou: Wow, a bulldozer. The powerful bulldozer was fascinating for Caillou.
Mommy: It must be very strong to move all that dirt.
Caillou: When I grow up, I’m going to drive that big bull dozer.
Mommy: Then I can watch you through the hole in the fence. It’s time for us to go home now, honey. Daddy is waiting for us!
S: Cillou didn’t want to leave.
Caillou: No, mommy. I want to watch some more.
Mommy: Ok, Caillou. Put on your seat belt. Airplane come in for a landing.
Caillou: I’m a flying bulldozer.
Mommy: Are you bulldozing clouds?
Mommy: Wait forme, Mr bulldozer?
Daddy: Hi, Caillou.
Caillou: I’m not Caillou. I’m a bulldozer.
Storyteller: Caillou figured it out how he could turn himself into a real bulldozer.
Caillou: Yeah. Br…
Daddy: Hey, Look, Rosie, Caillou is a bulldozer.
Rosie: Dozer!
Storyteller: Caillou was so involved in being a bulldozer. He didn’t think of anything else and not everyone liked it.
Rosie: Look, Caillou!
Storyteller: Caillou thought that Rosie wanted to play the bulldozer too. Caillou didn’t realize Rosie just wanted to show him her nice tower.
Rosie: No, Caillou.
Caillou: Look,Rosie. Bulldozers can help build too.
Storyteller: Soon Rosie was building her tower again and Caillou the bulldozer wanted to find another job to do.
Daddy: Thank you. I’m going to give you a job of raking the leavis. I’m sure you’re a bulldozer to help. Want to come?
Caillou: Yes!
Storyteller: Job of a bulldozer? Caillou whistled wee. He couldn’t wait to get started.
Daddy: Good work, Caillou!
Mommy: Wow, look, it’s almost done.
Storyteller: Caillou was happy. This was a perfect job for a bulldozer. And there was plenty to do.
Rosie: Wee!
138. Caillou the firefighter
Caillou: Gilbert! Wait for me!
Storyteller: What was that loud sound? Caillou wanted to find it out.
Caillou: Daddy, it’s mouthstinky in here.
Daddy: I know, my toast burger is sending out the fire alarm.
Storyteller: The idea of fire was scary to Caillou. He was worried.
Cailou: A fire?
Daddy: We were very lucky. It’s only a little one. It’s out now. I think we should get mommy and Rosie to practise a fire drill. That’s… a… goes again?
Storyteller: A fire drill sounded exciting and important. Caillou wanted to do it.
Caillou: I’ll get mommy and Rosie.
Caillou: Gilbert, come on!
Storyteller: Caillou knew that a firefighter was there to help twhen there is fire,
Caillou: Gilbert, I’m a fire man. come back!
Daddy: Ok. We’re going to have a fire drill. First, let’s listen to the alarm again. Try to recognize it.
Mommy: Good idea!
Caillou: I want to do it! Please.
Mommy: Daddy explained when the fire alarm goes off. The first thing to do is to get out of the house as quickly as possible.
Daddy: Got it? Ready to try?
Caillou: Let’s go outside. Come on, Gilbert.
Mommy: There, now, remember, if there was ever a fire, if you are outside, and do not go back in the house,right?
Caillou: Right.
Daddy: Now, let’s make sure everybody is here. Then we call the fire department from the neighbour’s house.
Storyteller: Caillou decided to pretend he was firefighter coming to help.
Cailou imagined the flowers were on fire. He loved playing his firefighting game.
Caillou: Look. I’m a firefighter.
Daddy: And a great one too. Hey! What was that water going? Firefighter.
Cailou: haha.
Storyteller: Cailou and his family finished their first firedrill.
139. Caillou the time keeper
Caillou: This is my favorite juice, mommy.
Mommy: There, we are all set with our picnic.
Caillou: Let’s go, mommy.
Mommy: Not yet, Caillou. We’ll go later. I have things to do before we leave.
Storyteller: Caillou wanted to go the picnic right away. He did not understand why his mommy wanted to wait.
Caillou: Can we go to the picnic now, Daddy?
Daddy: Now? But it isn’t lunch time yet.
Caillou: When is lunch time?
Daddy: By the time I’ve finished doing the laundry. It will be lunch time.
Caillou: Oh…
Rosie: My? See. There is a button missing.
We’ll find kyou a new one for your jacket before the picnic.
Cailou: You said picnic. Is it lunch time, mommy?
Mommy: No, Caillou, not yet.
Cailou: Oh.
Caillou: Daddy.
Daddy: Caillou, you surprised me.
Caillou: Are you finished? Can we go?
Daddy: You know time occasionally feels like going by very slowly. Hey, how would you like to be a time keeper? You could be the one who tells us the time to go.
Caillou: Really?
Daddy: I’ve just a thing. When the big hand and little hand are bouth pointing to number 12, it’ll be lunch time. And I’m going to set the clock alarming at the lunch time just like this.
Caillou: Thank you, Daddy.
Storyteller: Caillou was having a lot of fun with the alarm clock. He was very proud of his time keeping job.
Caillou: it’s not time yet.
Rosie: Me, too.
Caillou: No,Rosie.
Storyteller: Daddy has given clock to him, he didn’t want Rosie to play with it.
Caillou: My clock. Rosie, did you take ti?
Storyteller: Caillou could not believe it. His time keeper clock has disappeared.
Caillou: My time-keeper clock is gone.
Mommy: Do you know where the clock is, Rosie?
Rosie: No.
Mommy: it must be around here somewhere. Let’s look.
Mommy: Caillou has lost his clock.
Caillou: It’s not here.
Mommy: Could it be in here? NO.
Rosie: Haha…
Daddy: Try to… Caillou, we have a great picnic. Maybe we’ll find the clock later.
Caillou: No. I don’t want to go. I want my time keeper’s clock.
Caillou: My clock, it’s lunch time. Now we can go in a picnic. |
