兰花草
2008年5月19日
Tongtong is about 22 months old now. She can recites lots of songs and poems with great accuracy. Her favorite song is 兰花草. My father taught her the lyrics, sentence by sentence. I'm grateful that my father picked such a beatiful song. The song was adapted from a poem named 希望, written by 胡适 in the 1920s.
I'm also greatly amazed by the capacity of children's memory. In the case of Tongtong, she pronounces after my father a poem and she remembers
the poem accurately the next day.
If the children's memory ability were to be explained by the "working memory to long-term memory", the path from working memory to long-term
memory in the child's brain must be very short. It seems the encoding and retrival processes are quick for children. It's a really a great mystery. |
