本想给她读读Magic Possum, 不让。我自己重看一遍，除了食物没有别的。看到我爱的Scone，我心里颇为喜悦。澳大利亚在脚的那一边，好想去看看。

我自己在上班的来回途中听完了The Moffats的两个Disc。

她和L下午表演英语短剧，昨晚还为此做花，她先在白纸上画出花朵，涂色，然后剪下来。这时她对我说，妈妈，你攒下来的Cardboard有用了。她把纸板剪下来一细条，粘在自己做的花的背后，把细条正反涂成绿色。她告诉我把纸板做的花茎用透明胶带粘在台子上，“我假装用力一拔，把花摘下来”。

她的这个创意真的很创意，但我唯恐现场的台子不好粘。昨天只做了5朵，因为时间太晚。今天去4层比赛现场一看，以前的地面成了泡沫塑料垫子，红兮兮的，很不衬她做的那么漂亮的花。和她商量好，仍是撒在上面，她自己布置位置，把我放好的重新摆放。

M出来时跟我说这些花做的很好，我说孩子总是创意不断。

一个下午的比赛，她和L是最出彩的。

Mysterious Nature

        Thousands of reindeer skeletons were strewn about.
Strew: spread by scattering

        A thick carpet of lichens(LYE-kens) covers much of the island.

        Then the bleak land bursts into a rainbow of color.

        Seabirds such as puffins, murres, and fulmars nest on the island’s high cliffs.

        Small, mouse-like voles dig holes for their nests.

        The Coast Guard crew who lived on St. Matthew Island were cut off from the rest of the world. They had been plunked down in the middle of the cold ocean. What if there were a long stretch of bad weather and supply ships could not reach the island?

        By this time this island was littered with skeletons.

        Then winter came. Deep snow blanketed the ground.

        The reindeer could graze only in places where the wind had blown most of the snow away.

        The reindeer had already trampled or overgrazed these areas.

        The huge herd of reindeer didn’t have nearly enough food. To top it off, the winter of 1963-64 was extremely cold. The reindeer were already weak from lack of food. The cold finished them off.
Herd: A group of cattle or sheep or other domestic mammals all of the same kind that are herded by humans; a group of wild mammals of one species that remain together.

        The reindeer could not no longer breed. In the 1980s, the last of the reindeer of St. Matthew Island died off.

        How about typhoons? These deadly storms sometimes smack Guam with wind and rain.

        The bird fossils that David discovered were inside owl pellets. These pellets are little balls of bone, feathers, and fur that owls spit up after eating birds and other animals.

阅读论语现在成了我们的表演时间，这样对待孔子，相信孔先生也会很欢喜的吧。

我们有时分别扮演里面的人物，比如我是仲弓，她是孔子。仲弓需要声音细一点，而孔子则要浑厚一些。除了说，我们还唱，感觉蛮愉快的。昨天背到原思那一句，我甚至把“以与尔邻里乡党乎”唱了出来，自我感觉还非常好听。

古书是很磨练嘴皮子的。

周日晚饭是全家一起包饺子。关于饺子应该用什么馅，完全是她做主：虾仁、瘦肉、胡萝卜、玉米粒。

这次劳动，她进步很大，已经可以一只手扶皮，一只手擀皮。中间还在爸爸的胆战心惊中，用菜刀切面和下饺子。

下饺子的时候，爸爸让她一块下。我担心她会烫着手，没想到她还很有办法。面对沸腾的锅，她先把饺子放进勺子里，然后再把勺子放进锅里。

这次饺子之后，爸爸要求我每次做饭都要先查一下菜谱。

周六终于去了798。
她晚上睡觉前对我说，妈妈，我给你说几个数字，你看看有什么规律：

三八节写的作文，是她迄今为止写得最好的一篇。

因为欣喜，告知她爸。同时把TT的作文给他看，没想到他现在进化得很洒脱：“人家孩子的我不看，我只看我们自家的。”

附中初二的学生在社区搞活动。女儿被问及三次，都是同一个问题。她答得很快，因此获赠三本书和一个环保袋（初中生自己做的），抽奖一次。忽然觉得我们这个附中也不错，这种活动形式多样，孩子们看起来个个活泼开朗。

不过，面对突如其来的采访，女儿的第一反应是躲，是找妈妈。这种反应虽然的确是一种安全反应，但在我们自己的学校里，未免有些多虑。我和女儿都被拍照。一张是我做背景，另一张是我们的合影。我两次推脱，但小男生执意相求，“阿姨，帮个忙吧！”

晚上的在线课，几个重点词句是：

老师让她解释Careful的时候，她除了说Taking Care，还用了Very Carefully。
她造的句子今日都和At有关：

她在厕所里&&，隔着门对我说：

妈妈，我发现门是有两个的。比如，你在客厅里看，这个门是通向厕所的。而你在厕所里看，这个门是通向客厅的。

有不少哲学上的领悟，都是在马桶上完成的。还记得我的第一个厕所领悟：原来我只能知道我自己的想法，我无法知道别人的想法。我只能知道此刻的自己，却无法知道此刻的他人。

我现在还能记得明白这一点时，自己的心里有多么遗憾。
