When we went to the North Pole, I saw shining expanses of ice and snow. It was so bright that I had to cover my eyes. I also saw some floating ice hills that were as huge as skyscrapers. I thought: Wow! I must take photographs of these enormous icebergs. Captain Cook and Greta promptly jumped down onto the ice because it was their homeland view. And then they started waddling around to show how happy they were. The other penguins followed their example.
While the penguins were playing around in the snow, some polar bears came here cautiously to see what the penguins were. They sniffed the penguins and one of them reached out a forepaw to touch the penguins. The penguins started pecking the polar bears. The polar bears used their paws to roll them around in the snow gently. They started playing with each other, looking like little kids playing with fat grownups.
When they were hungry, the penguins would waddle to the beach and the big ones would teach the small ones how to catch shrimps and small fish. First, Greta would jump into the water and scout around to see if there were any seals lurking nearby and when the coast was clear, all the penguins would jump in and big ones would teach the juniors how to dive deeply and how to get onto land. Next, the big penguins would tell them to find some fish and use their beaks to grip it tight and swim to the shore to tell their mum and dad that they caught some fish and see if they had learned the skill. And when they were eating the fish, they said “Gook! Gook! Gook!”, as if they were saying this fish is the best they have ever tasted in the world.
One day, suddenly some little penguins disappeared and Admiral drake saw a seal near the ship. I immediately asked Admiral Drake to send out search parties. Everybody on the ship was very frightened. I didn’t want to eat food or sleep because I was so worried. Then a crew member spotted a lost penguin and followed her. What did you think he saw? A rookery and in it there was a little penguin snuggling in his father’s pouch. The mother penguin reached over and fed the baby some food. He snuggled into his mother’s pouch. The explorer ran to the ship quickly and told everybody the good news. I was so happy. I cried with relief like an alligator. Now the only problem was getting the penguins back to the ship. Admiral drake sailed the ship to the nearest place to the rookery and he got the penguins out of the ship and herded them toward the rookery where he established a breed of penguins in the North Pole.
Then I said a sad farewell to the penguins and sailed sorrowfully away. I would never forget them.
