AngellaI have begun to read the book “the Adventures of Tom sawyer” written by Mark Twain, a famous American writer. I like Tom very much. He’s a naughty boy, but very clever and funny. Once he was punished by his Aunt Polly and had to work on the Saturday while the other children were playing. He had to paint his Aunt’s fence, which was thirty yards of long and nine feet high. Maybe nobody could do this in a day, but Tom did it. When he began to do this he had an idea—— a glorious idea. Here was a boy, Ben Rogers, coming at that time, whose mockery Tom had been dreading most. Ben stared a moment, and then said: “ Hi! You ‘re in trouble, aren’ t you!” Tom did not reply him. Tom regarded his last touch with the eye of an artist. He realized that "man will desire anything they think they can’ t easily have". So Tom pretended to be doing a very careful job. As a result, Ben Rogers asked Tom to let him do it. So did the other boys. And at the end of the day, Tom became a rich boy: He had been given a cat with one eye, a piece of glass, different kinds of toys , and many other things. And his work ofbrushing the fence was done by the other boys.<img src="images/smiles/laugh.gif" border="0" onclick="javascript:window.open(this.src);" alt= style="CURSOR: pointer" onload="javascript:if(this.width>screen.width-500)this.style.width=screen.width-500;" /><img src="images/smiles/laugh.gif" border="0" onclick="javascript:window.open(this.src);" alt= style="CURSOR: pointer" onload="javascript:if(this.width>screen.width-500)this.style.width=screen.width-500;" /> 此帖由 imsistercat 在 2006-04-09 23:48 进行编辑... |
