I found a great deal of this out in college-one of my psycology and child
development professors was able to correctly identify me as a "Doman Baby"-one
of the children who went through this sort of program in the late '60's-early
'80s, just by watching my personality traits and the symptoms of my cerebral
palsy and visual-spacial learning disabilities. I've since read up on the
subject, and while it was the best therapy available at the time, I believe that
a good EC intervention program is preferable for a disabled child, and genuine,
natural parent-child interaction for any child. It's not worth the risk. |
