先用气压计测出地面气压大小，再测出楼顶气压大小，根据每升高12米，气压计水银柱即降低大约1毫米的特点 ，就可以算出楼的高度了。

以下是一位学生给的答案，老师看在他努力解答的份儿上，给了他全部分。
但在国内，这几个答案恐怕都不是标准答案，老师是不会给分的。
1: Go to the top of the building. Drop the barometer and count the seconds until it smashes on the sidewalk below.
Then use the formula for acceleration by gravity to determine the height of the building.
2: Use the barometer to bang on the door of the landlord in the building.
When the landlord answered the door, he would ask, “How tall is this building?”
3: Tying a long string to the barometer and measuring the length of the string.
Or swinging the string as a pendulum and inferring the height by the motion it created.
