Each new developmental stage provokes new forms of gene-environment transactions that may alter, or maintain, previous pathways. This means that giving young children a good early start increases but does not guarantee later success, and that children who begin life at a disadvantage are not doomed to enduring difficulty. 非常赞同这段话的观点：早期教育的关键是是否遵从孩子的天性或者说遗传的性格给与孩子爱和关照。这也是孩子的一生发展受否有潜力的变化的关键。因为孩子的遗传和后天环境是互动的，这种互动持续一生。我理解是做家长的最主要的还是观察了解孩子的天赋和遗传，让孩子发挥他们的天性的去爱和养育他们。
