　作为ＷＵＴｓｔａｒｃｏｍ公司创办人之一的吴鹰曾被美国著名的商业杂志《亚洲之星》评选为最有影响力的５０位亚洲人之一。他的成功，与他在美国的三堂刻骨铭心的课有关……第一课：两美元的刺激１９８５年的某一天，下飞机的吴鹰拎着行囊，他刚从北京来到美国新泽西州留学。一个美国女孩迎面而来：“先生，请您看一下这张照片好吗？”那是一张很悲惨的照片，瘦骨嶙峋的非洲儿童，胳膊只有平常人的手指那么细……”先生，请您献一点爱心，救救非洲儿童吧。”吴鹰没有犹豫，他掏出几十美分，投入募捐箱。　　他的爱心之手却被挡住了，“对不起，募捐的最少标准是２美元……”吴鹰稍稍犹豫了一下，２美元，占他身上全部财产的１／１５呀———他身上只有３０美元。就在吴鹰犹豫的一刹那，美国女孩又开了口：“先生，原来你不是日本人埃”她脸上充满了失望和不屑。　　美国女孩的态度深深刺痛了吴鹰，他一时不知该作何反应，呆呆地看着她一步步远去，直到她走出很远了，吴鹰才终于醒悟过来，他迅速追上她：“请等等。”女孩明显不耐烦了：“你到底想干什么？我还要去找其他人募捐呢。”“我只是想告诉你，我是中国人！”吴鹰一边回答，一边迅速掏出２美元，扔进募捐箱。“不是只有日本人才会捐献的。”　　女孩脸上露出尴尬的微笑：“对不起，我们的负责人事先跟我打过招呼，千万别找中国人募捐，中国人有钱也不愿捐的，这是他的经验……”听着女孩的解释，吴鹰的心沉了下去，他感到了一阵钻心的疼痛，这是他在美国遭遇的第一课啊！那一年，吴鹰２４岁，他到美国留学，是为了他的专业：计算机开发研究。他万万没有想到，一个美国小女孩给他上了第一课。　　第二课：抓住机遇的手　　来美国半年后，一则招聘广告吸引了他的目光———一位教授要请一位助教。吴鹰心动了，立即赶往报名处，可那儿已经挤满了人。取得报考资格的学生超过了３０个，而名额只有一个，希望渺茫。考试前几天，几位中国留学生使尽浑身解数，打探起主考官的情况来。经过种种努力，他们终于弄清内幕———主持这次考试的教授曾在朝鲜战场上当过中国人的俘虏。中国留学生们这下全死心了，“把时间花在不可能的事情上，再愚蠢不过了。”他们纷纷宣告退出。吴鹰最要好的一位朋友也劝吴鹰：“你算了吧把精力分出来，多涮几个盘子，好歹能多挣点儿学费。”吴鹰笑了笑，不反驳也不点头，朋友直叹气：“你怎么这么顽固，非得碰壁了才肯回头。”　　吴鹰如期参加了考试，终于坐在了教授的面前，他很放得开，完全融入到了助教这个角色中。“ＯＫ就是你了。”不知过了多长时间，教授的一句话惊醒了吴鹰：“我我真被录取了？”教授微笑着说：“你知道我为什么录取你吗？”吴鹰诚实地摇了摇头。“其实你在所有的应试者中并不是最好的，但你不像你的那些同胞，他们看起来好像很聪明，其实最愚蠢不过了，你们是为我工作，只要能给我当好助手就行了，还扯上几十年前的事干什么。我很欣赏你的勇气，这就是我录取你的原因。”　　第三课：中国人要自强　　１９８６年底，几经努力，吴鹰进了著名的贝尔实验室。在那里，吴鹰无意中赶上了第三课。这一课让他如此刻骨铭心，甚至直接改变了他今后的人生抉择。　　工作几个月后，实验室接待了一个来自中国大陆的电讯代表团，吴鹰也参加了接待工作。　　一开始的接待工作很顺利。参观结束，双方坐在一起交流起来，气氛非常融洽。这时候，一位中方代表团成员提出了一个很专业的技术问题。接待人员的脸色变了，含糊地应付了几句，有意没有说到点子上。吴鹰有点忍不住了，他不愿让别人糊弄自己的同胞。他清清喉咙，准备开口了。　　这时，他的上司突然站了起来，走到他的身边：“吴，你的任务已经完成，现在可以出去工作了。”　　所有的人都很意外，屋内的空气顿时凝固了。吴鹰脸上挂不住了，上司竟然如此不留情面地赶他出去在通讯领域，贝尔实验室领导着世界潮流，正因为这样，对中国的技术交流和出口受到多方限制。这一点，吴鹰早有所闻，可他万万没料到，自己会这么快亲历这种尴尬，吴鹰又想起了刚到美国时遭遇的那一幕。可这一次，他没有能力对抗自己的上司。在上司彬彬有礼的催促声中，在其他同事的冷漠表情中，在中方代表团成员复杂的目光中，吴鹰无奈地站起身，头也不回地离开了……代表团回国了，上司没有对吴鹰作任何解释，他根本没有把吴鹰的感受放在眼里。震撼之余，吴鹰恍然大悟：中国人一定要自强，一定要有真正属于自己的、领先他人的东西这样，人家才能真正看得起你。于是，１９９５年ＵＴｓｔａｒｃｏｍ公司问世了，同为留学生出生的陆弘亮出任美国ＵＴｓｔａｒｃｏｍ总裁兼ＣＥＯ首席执行官，吴鹰出任ＵＴａｓｔａｒｃｏｍ中国有限公司总裁和美国ＵＴａｓｔａｒｃｏｍ副董事长。ＵＴｓｔａｒｃｏｍ将总部设在美国硅谷，但将公司的营运中心放在了中国。　　２０００年３月３日，ＵＴｓｔａｒｃｏｍ被推选为几家上市公司的代表，在纳斯达克交易所５层大楼外的大幅显示屏上，这是首家由海外学子创办的通讯公司亮相纳斯达克。眼瞅着自己公司的股票一路飙升，市值最高达到７０亿美元，那一刻，作为一个白手起家的创业者，吴鹰心潮起伏，激动得几乎难以自抑……　更多好文章尽在梦翔教育　http://www.2itedu.com/<table
