I just had to share this with you all. I've been putting Anna in our crawling track since she was just a few days old. I don't have her sleep in it, but I do put her in it quite often throughout the day (probably 5-6 times).
Anyway, for about a month, she has been crawling the entire length of it at an 8 inch decline. She usually did this with a combination of wiggling her body, feet hitting the side of the track, some pushes on accident, etc... and it took her a few minutes to do it. If she seemed really frustrated, I'd let her push off my hands, but I didn't do that very often. Earlier this week I noticed her bunching her knees up under her bottom (not in a creeping way, but similar) and wondered where she was going with that...
Today, for the very first time she crawled the entire length of her track in about 30 seconds by bunching her knees up under her bottom and then she did a fabulous cross pattern crawl, legs only. I just looked in the Physical book and that's the homologous pattern. It was so neat to see!!!
What can I do to encourage more arm movement? Or will that just happen naturally over the next few weeks?
