This Blue Parrotfish (Scarus coeruleus) is a member of the parrot fish genus Scarus.

They are uniformly blue and they have a yellow spot in their heads.
They average 30-75 cm in length with a max length of 1.2 m.
Male specimens can grow to up to 120 cm.
Large fish develop a big snout.
No other species has this uniform blue color in adults.

In summer, the Blue Parrotfish gather in spawning groups.
The females get fertilized and later drop their eggs in the water.
The eggs become part of the plankton until the eggs hatch.

Habitat: associated waters of the Atlantic Ocean | Western Atlantic,
Brazil, Bahamas, Bermuda and the West Indies.

The blue parrotfish diet consists of eating small organisms found in the sand.
They spend 80% of their time searching for food.

蓝鹦嘴鱼，为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目隆头鱼亚目鹦哥鱼科的其中一种，
分布于西大西洋区，从美国马里兰州至巴西里约热内卢海域，
栖息深度3-25公尺，体长可达120公分，栖息在珊瑚礁区，
以藻类为食，可做为食用鱼及观赏鱼，有雪卡鱼中毒的报告。
