The focus of this course will lay out the basic foundation of giving speeches/ oral presentations as well as improving structured writing. Students will use a variety of materials and look at famous speeches from around the world. Students will practice gestures, posture, tone, speed techniques and grammar used to improve speeches. Students will also work on structured essay writing that goes with speech making.
An example of a daily outline:
-Discussion of previous night’s homework reading (a speech)
-pros/cons/ what makes this memorable/ diction and grammar choices
-watch video clip of speech for specific topic
-discussion of topic and speech
-grammar lesson and writing structure given by teacher
-short writing practice using topic and structure previously discussed by teacher
-review of written work by peers
-partner discussions using written topic
-small groups then work together to create a speech together
-speech (students give speech every other day: if student A gives speech on day 1 then student B will give speech on day 2 followed by student A on day 3-so students can refocus and have time to prepare and practice).作者: 黑夜里的眼睛 时间: 2013-1-17 20:13

昨天是外教演讲与写作课的第二次课。
老师大概强势地PUSH了,两个性格内敛的女孩最后将声音放出来,各做了一个短暂的演讲,让家长围观。LUNA明显的英音受到了另一位妈妈的好评。我认为是学校推进跟新2的成效,LUNA则认为是看《哈利波特》的正效应。作者: 尘尽光生 时间: 2013-2-3 15:17
Luna为期十一天的写作演讲课结束了。总结一下:1.写作能力显著提升,规范,结构完整,可以长篇大论地就某事流畅表达;2.有了演讲的意识和初步的风范;3.因老师选材难度大,课后回看罗琳等的演讲觉得容易许多;4.口语进一步提升。短期培训完美收官!
