标题: [外教的话] 关于加州六年级班的测验、写作 [打印本页] 作者: dawnch 时间: 2011-11-2 21:33 标题: [外教的话] 关于加州六年级班的测验、写作 I know, perhaps, it seems like Unit One has taken quite a bit of time - - - but to cover all the girls have covered is amazing. In a typical American classroom - - - most likely the time allotted would have doubled or even tripled. In our school, we allow 50 minutes for reading and vocabulary class each day (five days a week) and 30 minutes each day for English grammar. Writing skills are given during English or Reading class when time is available. So - - - the girls are moving at a rapid pace and seem to be grasping it fairly well. I am so pleased!
Also:
I'm not really worried about the girls cheating on the test. If you are not worried, then we can just give it to them to complete as you think best. I don't think the girls really have to be monitored, because it would be to their disadvantage to cheat. Perhaps when we have a semester exam, we could be more careful to check and monitor. Whatever you wish, I am fine with. The test seems fairly easy; I think they will all do well.
I also wanted you to know that I checked the two reporter stories submitted by the girls so far - and WOW! I thought the girls had misunderstood and had just copied the material from a newspaper. The grammar errors were my only clue that the girls wrote the material themselves. I AM SO IMPRESSED! You really do have some great writers already - the girls have clear thoughts and possess creative skills in painting mental pictures with their words. When the "bugs" are worked out of their grammar usage - - - WOW! I believe you will have some published authors from these girls. I truly was amazed with their homework this week. Thanks again for allowing me the honor of working with them. I believe greatness lies within each of them and I am eager to see the bright future they have because of your work in this online classroom.作者: dawnch 时间: 2011-11-9 21:47 标题: 这个老师很严格! Dear Dawn,
I have graded the quizzes and have a question. When I was grading Sunny's quiz, I noticed that she missed 9 points; she missed 6 points because of forgetting to do them.
On section E, she forgot to do # 2 and on Section G, she listed the type of sentences, but forgot to add the correct punctuation at the end of each sentence.
If you want her to keep the grade of 83% that is fine, but if you want her to complete the parts she forgot that is fine with me also. (Generally, I would give the test back to a student and ask her to fix the part she forgot.) If you wish her to complete the test, just have her resubmit it to me before Friday's class and I'll make the grade adjustment. Otherwise we will keep the grade as it is.
Also - on her friendly letter to me - she forgot to indent, forgot to include an address and date in the return address section, and forgot to use "have or has" three times. I will wait to grade hers until I hear from you. If you want her to fix the problem areas and resubmit, that is fine. Otherwise, I will grade her work as it was submitted.
Thanks again for your help and guidance in this project. I hope your birthday week was extra special.

Dear Vicy,
Sunny will correct all the mistakes and do the part she forgot in the test.
But please don't change the grade. We should be fair to other girls.
Once again, thank you very much!
You are a wonderful teacher!
