标题: 随着WS读读书 （男 00）
亲子阅读停了好长的一段日子，打算重拾陪同WS读闲书的美好时光，同时希望能借个小小角落做些简单的纪录，以便督促我们自己。
希望能坚持住。

由于孩子上课时间长，作业量也不小，忙完一天常会累的倒下就睡，读闲书的时间将会根据孩子的精神状况调整。

我们读书一般是睡前进行。孩子读，家长读或一块儿各读一点。时间不会太长，每次大概15-20分钟。主要是让大家都能放轻松，读读书，听听故事，聊聊天。

OK，希望我们能坚持住，为自己加油！！

停了好久的亲子共读，还是因为一本朋友推荐的书从新开始的。

网上查看了才发现原来还是 2000年的Newbery Honor Book。
这个系列说是作者本人 Tomie dePaola 的自传、经历、故事。

我们花了将近一个星期把整本书读完了。还是孩子自己大声朗读的，一天一段。最长的一次一口气读了3章。
每次读到孩子觉得有趣或有意思的部分，总会停下来给我看看那段文字，还会提出些自己知识范围内能理解的说明和说法。
孩子很喜欢这个故事，读完后自己还翻看了几天才肯拿去还，同时希望以后有机会借到其他同系列的来读。

Case 1 -- The Case of the Forgetful Jewel Thief

读完看解答前问了孩子为什么 EB 说 "All we need is a 150-watt lightbulb." ，还有 "But if we read between the lines, we'll find out where he hid the jewels."
读解答，提到的 Onion Juice，孩子马上联想到 Invisible Ink，必须用灯泡的热能让隐藏的文字显现。Bingo!

孩子读着EB的故事时提到和 A to Z Mysteries 这个系列的故事很相似。

今晚功课做迟了，孩子已很累了，不过因为昨天读出了兴趣，今天坚持读一个CASE才肯睡。
本来说好读书时录下一部分作为纪录，看看过段时间的朗读是否有进步，结果发现mp3没电了，只好作罢。

今晚睡前故事，我给孩子读了一小段的 淘气包马小跳系列的贪玩老爸 -- 马天笑先生和“跳跳娃”。

我们来自双语环境，孩子是从小接触英语。坦白说，很大程度上还比不上这儿的同龄孩子。
目前中文更成了让家长头疼的一环。

开这个帖主要是想纪录孩子的阅读和朗读练习，督促我们一起坚持着，同时也希望有一天孩子能自己来用中文（或英文）做记录。

终于还是朗读+录音了Encyclopedia  Brown Cracks the Case的最后一个故事：

录音暂时成了妈妈陪宝贝入睡的睡前故事。
评论：今晚读的比催眠曲还糟，很大部分还含糊不清。
几分钟的录音，竟然设置了重复播放 ，最后还是成了催眠曲。

借到了The Invention of Hugo Cabret，可惜论坛上TX分享的音频目前自己仍然只能在门外徘徊。
看能只好自己读了。

今晚孩子有空就拿出来引诱一下。就不知道这块大砖头是引起小屁孩的兴趣呢，还是会被吓跑了。

开始先半章一章的进行，尤其是牵涉朗读的。太长会让孩子觉得累，还会失去兴趣。
我们现在就利用短篇故事或半章一章的内容来练嘴练舌，孩子有兴趣会自己多读一点，没兴趣就快快应酬完收工。

最近几天忙着赶功课和学听写，忙完就睡了。
今晚终于抽出时间又朗读了一本较短的书：
Bunnicula and friends : Rabbit-cadabra! James Howe.

这是 Ready-to-Read 系列的其中一本，这套简写的Bunnicula系列在不同时段读了好几本了，虽然能借到原文书却不愿意读。还是这几本有图可看的简写内容吸引了孩子的兴趣。希望有朝一日孩子愿意读原文，听原文。

这几本书读下来，我们还是没找出答案 -- 兔子是不是Vampire！！！
或许，为了找答案，孩子最终会去看这个系列的原文。孩子在想什么，谁知道哦~

Bunnicula is a children's book series written by James Howe (and his late wife Deborah in the case of "Bunnicula") about a vampire bunny that sucks the juice out of vegetables. It is also the name of the first book in the series, published 1979 (ISBN 0-689-80659-0).

The story is centered on the Monroe family and their pets and is told from the perspective of their dog Harold. The Monroes find a bunny at the theater where they were watching a Dracula film. Because of this, they name him Bunnicula. Their cat Chester, however, is convinced Bunnicula is a vampire and attempts to get Harold to help save the Monroes from the perceived menace.

The full name of the first book is Bunnicula: A Rabbit-Tale of Mystery. The second and third books of the series are Howliday Inn and The Celery Stalks at Midnight. Nighty-Nightmare followed in 1987, followed by Return to Howliday Inn in 1993. In 1999, Bunnicula Strikes Again!, was published. Bunnicula Meets Edgar Allan Crow was published in 2006, and appears to be the final book in the Bunnicula series. There is also the book "Howie Monroe and the Doghouse of Doom," a spoof of Harry Potter.

Following the end of the Bunnicula series, James Howe began a spin-off series called Tales from the House of Bunnicula, which are 'written' by Howie, the dachshund puppy introduced into the series in Howliday Inn. There is also a series called Bunnicula and Friends: Ready To Read. They are a series of five picture books about adventures of the characters from the stories. They are aimed for beginning readers.

One dark and stormy night, the Monroes bring home a new pet: a little black-and-white rabbit. Because the Monroes found him at a Dracula movie, they name the rabbit Bunnicula. Harold the dog thinks Bunnicula is just a cute little bunny. But Chester the cat is worried.

Bunnicula sleeps all day and wakes up at night. And Bunnicula doesn't have little bunny teeth -- he has fangs. Is Bunnicula really just a harmless little bunny? Or is he something much, much more scary?



Is there a burglar on the loose? Harold, Chester, and Howie are guarding the Monroe house -- especially a batch of Mr. Monroe's famous fudge. But they fall asleep -- and wake up to discover the fudge has turned white! Has Bunnicula acquired a taste for chocolate in addition to vegetables? Chester is sure of it! But then the fudge disappears -- and it's up to Harold, Chester, and Howie to catch the thief!



It's Halloween night and spooky things are going on at the Monroe house. The wind is howling. The walls are creaking. Howie, the little dachshund, is scared silly. And Chester, of course, is sure the vampire bunny, Bunnicula, is up to something. Harold would just as soon sleep through the whole scary night, but then a witch sneaks into the Monroes' kitchen and starts stirring up a witch's brew. Will Bunnicula be its main ingredient? Before you say BOO! it's Harold, Chester, and Howie to the rescue.



The Amazing Karlovsky is coming to town, and Chester the cat is nervous. Everyone knows that magicians pull rabbits out of hats -- suppose they're vampire rabbits, like Bunnicula? Soon there could be hundreds of vampire bunnies on the loose! Chester springs into action and, with Harold and Howie in tow, is off to save the vegetables of the world -- and to turn the Amazing Karlovsky's performance into something no one will ever forget.



It's Christmas Eve, and Howie the dachshund puppy is scared. Who is this big guy in the red suit who's going to come down the Monroes' chimney with a huge sack over his shoulder? Chester isn't scared of Santa; it's the Christmas ghosts he's worried about (and, of course, Bunnicula). So when there's a loud CRASH from the basement, he and Harold have to investigate -- to make sure the Monroes have a merry Christmas, not a scary Christmas.



Harold the dog, Chester the cat, and Howie the dachshund puppy are excited for Toby's birthday. Because birthdays mean parties, and parties mean presents. And best of all -- cake.

But when the pets find seven suitcases in the room with all of the gifts, they start to worry. What could be inside? Why are there holes in them? And are they...moving?

This is one birthday present that Bunnicula fans will be eager to open!

循要求，给孩子朗读了 Sleepy Hollow Sleepover 其中一个chapter，孩子负责录音。过后重听时接受了孩子对于我的发音不好、不正确的批评和教育。

和孩子一起努力，改正、改进。加油！

继续纪录

孩子正在考试，时间都用在复习上了。晚上的阅读时段也变得断断续续的。倒是这段时间的朗读配录音成了孩子紧张备考的小点心。


The invention of Hugo Cabret
读这本书的引诱工作宣告失败。
看着那4寸厚的书，孩子说什么都不愿意看，看来只好留到以后再说了。
有机会先听。


The Talking T.Rex, by Ron Roy
书到期还了，朗读和录音未能完成。孩子决定以后借其他的再重新录音。


Sleepy Hollow Sleepover (Super Ed 4), by Ron Roy
这本书的朗读倒是完成了。录音室关上房门自己录的，还录了好长的一段时间。
两天前，白天，孩子自己在房里一口气朗读并录下了5个chapters，第8-12，完成了整本书的录音。
他自己说不愿意停下来是因为故事情节很精彩紧张，所以读着读着就读完了。录音长达40多分钟，大破纪录。

这两个晚上睡前都在听这段录音，发现孩子的朗读进步了，语气听起来也较前自然，虽然还是会出现一刹那的含糊，不过总体听着还挺不错的。

最近也开始留意另一个也是由Ron Roy创作的系列故事 Capital Mysteries。
刚借了一本 Trouble at the Treasury，复习当儿偷闲，默读当中。


听了一些故事：

两个音频是连着一块买来的，之前听了#22，最近把#24也听完了，还把书找来搭配着听第二遍。

呵，不是什么特别的工具，就一个小小的带录音功能的 Creative ZEN Mozaic mp3 player，孩子自己要求关在房间朗读、录音（避免被骚扰，打断录音）。
主要是孩子喜欢把玩这个小小玩具，录音（无论好坏）还能在睡觉时把妈妈留下来陪伴（听故事）。

偷懒了好一段日子了。
孩子考试成绩不大理想，下个学期加把劲，希望能考个好点的成绩。
上个学期，老师说是刻意把程度提高了，让孩子们尝试一下明年会考的程度，所以成绩不好是意料中的事。这个学期，不成也是这么回事？今天见老师，看看怎么说。

继续记录读书内容。

看了本 Horrible Histories （学校借的书，还了，糊涂妈妈忘了记下来啦！） 和 Horrible Science (Bulging Brains and Disgusting Digestion) （这本昨天也还了）。

本来说要录下其中一本的朗读 - 妈妈和他的共读，后来因为时间用在复习中，就搁下了。

S这个星期在看 GS44 The Giant Diamond Robbery，说要试着朗读和录音。前天录了一章，感觉效果不好，答应今晚陪着一快进行朗读，看会不会好点。

W最近受同学影响，竟然看起鬼故事来了 -The Almost Complete Collection of TRUE Singapore GHOST STORIES #20，还录了一小段，可惜读的效果不怎么样，有点含糊，听起来感觉不到恐怖。

据小朋友说，打算继续借 Famous Five  或其他 Enid Blyton 的书来看，老师推荐他们多看这个作者的书。
妈妈推荐看 Five Find-Outer系列，不知到推销成功没。

回来了，孩子考完试放假，尽顾玩了。

Five Find Outer 没看成，倒是开始看Horrible Science 和 Histories 的书了，还录了几段 Woeful Second World War的内容，“审阅”时我们自己都不满意，因为有些字不会读，查了图书馆目录，决定把音频借回来听、学习。

除此，断断续续的看着 Capital Mysteries 的书，幸亏这个系列没出音频，否则大概成听故事了。

最近开始留意 Calendar Mysteries 的音频，说不想看书 - 主要是不好借，孩子没耐性了。

Calendar Mysteries is a new series of books by author Ron Roy. The main characters are Lucy, brothers Brian and Bradley, and Nate who are all about mysteries, jokes and clues – every month of the year!


Book No. 1: January Joker


Green Lawn, we have a problem! When Bradley Pinto wakes up in the night to strange lights in his backyard, he thinks there are aliens in town. When he sees three-toed footprints in the snow, he’s sure of it. His twin, Brian, and friends Lucy and Nate aren’t so certain. But then Lucy’s cousin Dink, the twins’ brother, Josh, and Nate’s sister, Ruth Rose, all disappear. Are there really aliens in Green Lawn? And where could they be taking Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose?



Book No. 2: February Friend


It's a Valentine's Day party! Bradley is passing out his class’s valentines, but one of them has no name on it. Inside, the card tells the class to look in the closet. When they open the closet door, the kids find a rabbit named Douglas in a cage! What mysterious “friend” left him there? And why? Then the bunny gets sick. It’s up to Bradley, Brian, Lucy, and Nate to track down his owner and figure out what is wrong with poor little Douglas.



Book No. 3: March Mischief


It's St. Patrick's Day in Green Lawn. Bradley, Brian, Nate, and Lucy dress up a leprechaun statue for the town’s yearly contest. They leave it out on the porch overnight, but the next morning, it’s missing! Who is behind the mischief? It will take four kids and the luck of the Irish to find out.



Book No. 4: April Adventure


Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose have hidden Easter eggs for the younger kids to find. Bradley, Brian, Nate, and Lucy have no trouble finding the plastic eggs. But some of the golden eggs disappear! Can the four kids track down the thief?



Book No. 5: May Magic


Twins, Bradley and Brian Pinto are getting ready to celebrate Mother's Day by treating their mom to a show by Hypo, the world's greatest hypnotist. Brian hopes that if Hypo can hypnotize his mom into loving ducks, then she will let him raise ducks in their backyard. But when the Pinto family gets home from the show, the twins' mom starts acting strange. She splashes in the bathtub for hours, she leaves corn kernels all over, and—could it be?—she quacks! Bradley thinks his mom has actually turned into a duck! How did this happen? Can Bradley and Brian, with help from their friends Lucy and Nate, turn their mom back into their mom?



Book No. 6: June Jam


Bradley, Brian, Nate and Lucy are getting ready for Father's Day. They've decided that strawberry jam from the Pintos' strawberry patch would be a great gift. But something or someone has been taking bites out of the strawberrys! Polly the Pony, Pal and the dog, and the twins' brother Josh are all suspects. If the kids can't protect the strawberry patch from the mystery chomper, they might be in a real jam! Ron Roy's sixth Calendary Mysteries book has a fan Father's Day and all the sweetness of summer.

最近在同时听读 Michael Reisman的SIMON BLOOM, THE GRAVITY KEEPER。
听的津津有味，内容紧张有趣。
刚开始只是听，结果听到紧张处等不及就把书拿来看了。

Chinese Time~

最近也在听中文故事：窗边的小豆豆（ipad版）。竟然听出兴趣来了。
可惜这个版本的操作不好用，听完一段就必须自己倒回目录去打开下一段，让孩子听着觉得不给劲。
打算把以前收的mp3找出来刻盘，方便孩子连续听故事，免得那刚刚萌芽的“听”给赶跑了。

ipad儿童版的孙悟空和水浒传也都在不同时段“听”完了，其中孙悟空的故事还听了两遍。唯一遗憾是孩子总是不愿意看其中文内容，只愿意听。。。。。。。。。
