借来朋友孩子的作业本看看,一下狠心,把老师布置的作业都敲下来了。他们的英语本,封面贴上孩子的名字和Homework Journal的字样,老师每周收上去一次,检查作业,发下来时,贴好了下周4天的作业,每一页贴一天的作业,老师真还的费心去剪贴呢。大家看了就知道了。

最后几个星期的数学作业的图没附上,还没想出来怎么画,大家随意看看就好了。
这样布置的作业至少孩子不会忘,老师附上Example,让孩子有例可循。

除了家庭作业,他们还有一套Language and Math Morning Practice,老师打印装订成册,每天一页,仔细看了是@2004 Evan-Moor Corp. Daily Language Review, Grade 1, EMC 579,有高人能找到,大家就能用了,在网上找到99年只有几页的版本,有兴趣的看看吧!

不过论坛上有的一些练习册内容也差不多,只是这个每页印着星期几,督促自己一天也不能落。

我儿子也是一年级,中国的一年级,比较以后,只有一种感觉,美国的孩子比我们的孩子快乐,不知道是不是美国孩子的升学压力、求职压力比我们少,还是我们老师家长被压力压得只知道考试。

其实作业很不容易呀。一天要看一本书,还要写出感想,就算是寥寥数语,对于一年级上学期的孩子也不容易呀。不过数学好像比我们的容易。

美国更注重能力、身心的培养,比较更务实。美国孩子会几种乐器、各种体育运动的人大有人在。能辩论、写文章、摄影、绘画等全方位人很多。孩子在儿童阶段很轻松,但年龄越大,竞争也越激烈。美国孩子到高中后一点也不轻松。

也许我们忘记了达尔文《进化论》的核心--适者生存,中美两国环境不同,中国家长要适应中国的环境(教育资源短缺,竞争激烈),不得不如此而已,并非中国家长只知道应试,不知道带给孩子快乐。

中国教育的问题根子在文化。
人人都想要安稳,怕风险。
今天不走大家都走的路,万一孩子不成功,家长一定后悔死。
走了还是不成功,那是孩子不够努力。。。或者是归咎于万恶的制度。。。
敢像听语那样的妈妈,估计是少数了。

美国的作业少也有作业少的问题,只是我们作业多,自然看到作业少的好处来。

在自己条件许可的情况下,可以尽力参考美国小学的做法。
比如你能让孩子只上半天学,剩下半天自己带;比如你能让孩子下午4点放学后没有其他作业,来研究美国作业。。。
如果孩子应付学校的课业已经吃不下,消化不了了,再加一套作业的做法,窃以为不可取。

这所小学在布什卸任后住的小区里,算是Dallas最好的小学之一,作业应该不算少。孩子们阅读的书是学校提供的,大家换着看,阅读写作部分似乎比较难,其实从一开始上学就养成读和写的习惯,孩子们反而容易适应吧。比较喜欢老师给出范文,循序渐进,让孩子知道读后感应该怎么写,从哪些方面写。

如果我们的孩子再在素质教育增加一点.那么我们的国民综合素质不是更高了吗?
只是中国的人多,竞争更大一点.要求也就自然高了一点.

敢情美国一年级还有作业啊,我还以为基本不布置作业了呢。
中国一般小学一年级的作业其实也很简单,都是死题目,容易完成。
但是等到一掺和上奥数啊,作文啊(有一定质量的命题作文),英语比赛啊,就开始没时间了。

美国的教育:授之以渔。中国的教育:授之以鱼。这就是差距。希望中国的孩子在做作业的时候也可以像其他先进教育国家的孩子一样快乐。祝中国的孩子健康成长。
   不过公正说一句,在中国已经有很多城市,很多好的学校意识到了这个问题,看好中国教育!特别是有儿教这样一个好地发,中国孩子的幸福指日可待。

说句公道话,在美国读书的孩子要比中国的快乐很多。而且北美也是很科学的根据孩子的年龄加大功课作业量的,小学,中学,高中,大学,小学最轻松,中学作业开始多了,高中更多,大学最累,否则你就得转系和延迟毕业。他们的作业更倾向于想象力和创造性的挖掘和锻炼,给学生的发挥的空间很多,不象中国学生的作业基本上只有一个标准答案,作业做起来枯燥乏味。而中国的学生是初中最累,现在考好的高中比考大学要难啊。但这一阶段正是孩子长身体的时候,考完大学基本是放松了。小学开始累,初中最累,高中很累,大学很轻松,看看是不是在摧残孩子的身体?
前阶段新闻中看到一所高中的学生在高考结束那天将自己的书本撕烂抛向空中的场景,觉得真是悲痛。中国教育的悲哀。也是孩子们的反抗:不想成为考试机器啊!

国外的阅读好像开展的很早,一本书有的其实只有几页,他们的感想跟我们想象的感想应该有所区别。
