The Great Wall of China is a wall built mainly with stone, brick and wood. The wall was built along the northern borders of China to protect the Chinese Empire against raids by different nomadic groups from the North. The first part of the wall was built by the first Chinese Emperor more than 2000 years ago. The Great Wall of China is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
